.. who as you may know was in fact a jackdaw (see here). The doubt is perhaps justified and I'm basing my jackdaw identification on the grounds that a) there were lots of them (crows are more often seen in pairs) and b) it wasn't an especially big bird (crows are bigger birds than jackdaws), but am ready to be proved wrong. This was taken in a park near my home: the Latin name for the Eurasian Jackdaw is Corvus monedula, and in Spanish it is known as 'grajilla'.
