blossom

It's strange being at home on a Friday, and nothing planned. I've taken the dogs for a walk along the Cairn Water and around the fields, and we've been around the garden, too, well-wrapped up against the cold northwesterly  wind. I've sat in the warm kitchen with D, reading my book and knitting and watching the northwesterly progress of Sarah and Chris on Flight Radar.

It's a fasting day, so no meals to punctuate the hours (except for Merry, who has three quite substantial bowls of food a day).

Very cheering to see the first Prunus blossoms appearing, especially as I have just read all about blossom festivals (hanami  in Japan) and a new book of poems by Simon Armitage and illustrated by Angela Harding, celebrating all things blossom.
