Libby is half yellow lab and half Standard Poodle. No four-generation process took place; she's just a cross.

In this shot, you see her dominant aspects. The lab's need to fetch an object when anyone comes to the door - shoes, mostly - and it's world-class shedding. Lib has not only the poodle's long legs, but also its hair length. Hence the summer shave.
