This is to advise that Governor Wes Moore ordered the United States Flag lowered to half-staff from sunrise to sunset, Friday, February 9, 2024. This is the day of the memorial service for Navy Special Warfare Operator First Class Christopher J. Chambers. NSWO First Class Christopher Chambers was a Maryland native that died in the line of duty on January 11, 2024. The Maryland flag is already flying at half-staff in honor of NSWO First Class Christopher Chambers. The United States Flag and Maryland will both return to full-staff at sunset on Friday, February 9, 2024.” - sos.maryland.gov. I decided to put my quote at the beginning today. It just seemed appropriate. A Navy Seal, this young hero perished at sea on January 11th while trying to board a ship carrying Iranian weapons near the coast of Somalia. He jumped in the sea to save another Seal who had fallen. Our BIL attended the same high school as NSWO First Class Chambers, just 30 years earlier. We are on the road, heading to WV. Our ETA is 8:30 pm. We met up with my sister, BIL and Sugar at the rest stop where I snapped this shot. I have watched for a Maryland flag all along our route. Welcome to another weekend. Stay safe.
