Along the Stopbank…..

…….. Early this morning. Maisie is away ahead of me. I walk very cautiously along the stopbank as it is peppered with rabbit holes. Some sections have very big, well used holes. Real warrens. They remind me of the book “Watership Down”. Maisie loves those areas. There are vineyards over the stopbank on my right. To the left are the sweeping areas of grass leading across to the tree-lined Taylor River banks. The river is bone dry and any remaining water-filled holes are very suspect for dogs and humans.
