Party time!
Grace, John and friend Zoe have just set off for the train to Bristol for Grace’s party, so I just had to take a picture for my blip. They are having a ceilidh plus a play list of their own music.
I don’t think Grace will get lost on the dance floor! ( How does she belong to us!!)
The picture she is holding is a blow up of one of her school photos, it used to be her favourite! She wore glasses through most of her first school but hasn’t needed them since except for close work. They thought it would be fun to have a Photo Booth where people have to replicate the picture instead of the usual dressing up items so they’ve got lots of glasses and hair bands to use!
This morning we took Eda to ’Curtain Up’ her new drama group which is right across town. She got a logo T shirt and some jazz shoes plus the script for Matilda which I doubt she can actually read yet., but she is very pleased with herself.
She’s there three hours so Grace took me to nearby Alexander Park where there is a great view over Bath. Extra. The hill above Grace’s head at the top of the picture is Little Solsbury Hill and they live just below it. In the foreground is the station and the city centre in the middle of the shot.
We went into Bear Flat and had coffee and a light brunch at The Good Bear Cafe and then passed some time noodling in some very nice shops. The whole area, houses, cafes and independent shops reminded me of the Gloucester Road area of Bristol where they used to live.
On the way back we picked up Grace’s uni friend, who was her chief bridesmaid, from Bath Station, she has come down from Manchester. After lunch we had fizz whilst they got ready - our injured child from yesterday is no longer hanging a wing but it took a big effort from John this morning to persuade her it would be ok to stand on her leg.
Hope they have a great time tonight but I think I’m quite glad we are at home baby sitting!
