Saturday: Clematis …

… which is growing up the twisted hazel - probably benefitting from the severe pruning the hazel got during the autumn.

A very chilly start to the day, 3°C but clear blue sky and hardly a breeze.

I have a collection of seeds which I want to start extra early this year, in the hope that I’ll have some strong plants before the weather gets too hot, if our weather is like the last few years. Found some pots, compost, wrote labels but found it far too cold outside … but everything is ready when it’s a little warmer :-)

MrD had a ride in the mountains on his motorbike and was back by lunchtime.
