Green needles sing
Juxtaposed
With the hoar frost
prongs of blown snow frozen
Ice crystals clinging
On the windward side
In the high lands
Winter patternings
Caught in a moment
Of still silence
Held in the warmth
Of shared footprints
In deep snow
