Winter

With howling wind and the odd shower throughout last night, we were greeted by a cold and stormy morning.
As the day progressed, we received news of no less that 2 cargo boats/ships busy running aground at Knysna and Jacobs Bay on the west coast.

Part of our shopping mall's roof was blown off last night and I can just imagine the devastation and damage that greeted early morning shoppers. Those who had the courage to venture outside!

A large tree, probably an oak, was uprooted and blocked a street leading into town.

News just came in of a school that had collapsed killing one pupil.

This afternoon my husband called from the office to say that I must have a look at the mountains - first snow!
It looked more like sieved icing sugar!

Would have loved to blip this, but the mountain tops were mostly obscured by clouds.
If the snow is still around tomorrow, I will try to get an image of this.

For the seasoned of you who are used to snow in the winter - living in sunny South Africa, we are not really used to snow and it remains something special when it occurs.

We never have snow in our town other than on the mountain tops - so we do not know about cleaning up driveways and streets and the rest.

No really special image today - too wet and cold outside - so I took a quick blip through the window.
