Not Again!

Not again! As I pulled up the blinds this morning I actually laughed out loud. If I thought yesterday’s weather was depressingly bleak then today’s was just as bad, hence the rueful laugh. The mist was resting on the ground with trees and grass alike sodden and dripping. Later after lunch it did brighten up and it was certainly warmer than of late, feeling like 4° rather than -6°. Just as well then that our coven convened to dispel the gloom with our Sunday coffee and chatter.

Not again! The Scottish rugby team were beaten at the line when a suspect decision was given to disallow a try which I have to say to my untutored eye on play back looked good.  However the decision seemed to be taken with a shrug of captain Finn Russell’s shoulders and a wry smile which might be the honourable way to accept defeat. After all it is just a game, but wouldn’t it be lovely to have just occasionally a convincing Scottish victory in something? It’s hard not to feel “we wiz robbed”again.

With 4 South Africans in the Scottish Rugby squad, there is at least one extra female follower of Scottish rugby from that country. She and her husband were the organisers of the two South African cycling holidays HL and I took part in during early 2000s and she called me yesterday afternoon just as the game ended. It was unexpected but lovely to hear from her after all these years.
