Walk from tarronga to Balmoral beach

On our final full day, we walked from tarronga all around the headland then up and over ( loads of steps) to Balmoral beach. (6.5 miles) It was a lovely shady walk near the edge with fabulous views of the skyscrapers, and boat activities on the turquoise waters. Along the path there were numerous plaques of information about all the plants and animals. At the tip of Bradley Head I went to a swim on a secluded beach where the water was choppy but no waves. The sea temperature today is 22.4 so lovely and warm, and refreshing.
We arrived at Balmoral beach reserve, which was bordered by a promenade, showers/ toilets/ changing on both ends, shady benches, trees, and the best fish n chip shop in Sydney. We shared a fish n chips with a Greek salad, then walked along and spent a lazy time on rocky pount island, observing from my green towel under a tree. An Australian magpie landed near me and started to sing to me, a lovelier song than the British magpie!
We walked into Manly with Sue for a final meal at a Sake, Japanese restaurant on the wharf overlooking the bay where we could see the ferries and the sun setting. We shared edamame beans, kingfish crunch sushi rolls with cucumber, coriander and sweet soy and tobiko. They were absolutely delicious. I had spicy ramen noodles and we shared a wafu salad which consisted of Shungiku, mizuna, avocado, cherry tomatoes and gobo chips which were very pretty and crunchy!
We went to Anita’s gelato for the last time where Sue and Adrian had an ice cream ( I was stuffed ). Then we walked back in the quiet darkness along the path back.
It’s been a wonderful trip.
