Let There Be Light!

Cordyline australis, commonly known as the cabbage tree, is a widely branched monocot tree endemic to New Zealand

The kiwi, the pukeko and the cabbage tree, are three things that absolutely spell 'New Zealand' to me - they're iconic. I've been eyeing up cabbage trees around my area for the past few days, and found these this afternoon. I did have an idea that there could have been a sunburst, but didn't realise it would be quite as distinct as this. You'll either love it, or not!

It's been a superb winter's day and my living room is still warm from the sun that poured in this afternoon. To top it off, I had coffee this morning with Thepainterswife. Such a treat! It was lovely to finally meet up with her - having already met her husband out kayaking.

PS - don't know if anyone can help, but - I realised that there were dust spots on the image after posting, and although I've fixed them in Lightroom, and have reposted it x3, they're still there. Can't think of a solution. At least the one here at home is clean!
