O'Briens
In to the surgery in Holmfirth this afternoon for my shingles jab. That was the theory, anyway, but I have concerns about this vaccine. A little to my surprise, the nurse listened, and was sure she'd be able to address my question. But after reading the leaflet with the vaccine, and some internet searching, she couldn't. She was interested to know the answer too, and suggested postponing the jab while she contacts the manufacturer, after which she'll get back to me. Healthcare as it should be!
Meanwhile, MrM had walked into Holmfirth the long way round, just for exercise. I met up with him in town and he suggested popping in to O'Briens for a quick half. They happened to have a very nice cider on tap, so one turned in to two (sometimes MrM is such a bad influence...). We sat in the back bar - quite a small space with lots of interesting things, including the old sewing machine with a light bulb, which you can just make out in the Blip. No idea whether or not it's a working lamp.
Called into a local supermarket on the way home for a couple of items for this evening's meal - pancakes with bacon, maple syrup, blueberries, and raspberries! Delicious!
RIP Steve Wright, whose voice over the airwaves brightened up so many afternoons...
