So even though we are in the middle of nowhere, we also happen to have a port a five minute bike ride away. No super-yachts, but not just little fishing trawlers either. For some reason the gate to this gangway was open, giving quite an interesting angle on the entire thing. The photograph was taken on our afternoon of leisure, where we had finished all we wanted to in the morning and decided to finish the rest in the evening rather than waste the sunshine. Heading into Fouesnant on our usual path we noticed that it was actually interdit to use bikes along it...think we'll probably just have to continue using it and use the hapless tourist excuse if we're ever caught, as it is the only easy way for us to get to the town! Was rather proud of our supermarket shop, fruit and vegetables was all that we got pretty much...to our delight, we have realised that we actually use our fruit bowl rather than just having it for decorative purposes!
The little ones of one of the families are coming round to us now I think. Any child under the age of five immediately hides behind their parent upon seeing us, but follow us with their eyes. For some reason we fascinate them, what the reason is I have no idea! These particular children have been really quite shy when compared to others, not really speaking a word to us...however they came up to see us so that the little girl could show us her stickers! I think the next time we see them we might actually get some words out of them too. Bless 'em.
The van we ended up cleaning was one that should have already been cleaned - within seconds of going in we were disappointed. Whoever had "cleaned" it the first time had left a lot of obvious things not done, so we knew it was going to be a long day. As ever, when we get a bad one we do half in the morning and then half in the evening, meaning we have forgotten the first disappointment! It confuses me when people don't do their jobs in work like this...if you don't do your job then someone else has to pick up the slack, something that I find grossly unfair. But then again, I guess some people don't have the same work ethic or sense of perfection as others. Our evening was spent having a chat with the Tuckers, who gave us some magazines and newspapers - nice to catch up a little with the world again!
Anyone can slay a dragon, but waking up and loving the whole world all over again - that is a true hero.
