Long and winding trail

Biked the trail alongside Lake Dunstan today. K was nostalgic as in 1974, having been in NZ for only 6 months, he did a trip in his Vauxhall Viva. The clutch failed and he needed to pick apricots to get $$$ to replace it. In 1980, a dam was built for a hydroelectric scheme and the apricot farm now lies below the lake….he reckons just to the left of where he’s cycling. Things change.
