Surfing in the rain
Such a different day today - drizzle this morning and steady rain this afternoon. In light of the forecast we went to St Ives where there are lots of galleries to browse. We really enjoyed the Outi Pieski exhibition in Tate St Ives. She is a Sami artist from northern Finland whose art is all about her people, their traditions and the threats to their way of life and ancestral lands. The extra is a still from a video where a dancer wearing a traditional woman's horned hat is introducing her hat to the one in her hands which has recently been "released from captivity" in a museum in Hamburg. The whole exhibition is warm, moving and haunting.
Outside the museum, the weather wasn't deterring dozens of surfers on Porthmeor Beach.
