Sundial Saturday

This is a human sundial.

A small area of land was given to the community for an environmental project almost twenty years ago. There's a laid hedge, a variety of native species, some benches to relax on and a human sundial.  Stand on the appropriate part of the inset sleepers (extra blip) and your shadow will indicate the time, as I'm doing.

The school is on one edge of the village and a lot of children regularly use the footpath alongside 'Little Meadow' often visiting the area and noting the plants or playing on the sundial. 

Sadly a few of the hour marks have rotted and been replaced by less attractive but harder-wearing concrete. I don't know if there are any plans to use wood again.

Fortunately I had a bit of sunshine today before it got murky. So indoor gym and a few bike repairs occupied the day. Riding tomorrow whatever the weather
