Buckler’s Hard
Our first full day in the New Forest. I was tired last night and forgot to mention that we really struggled to find the venue and its car park. We were indebted to three students who not only helped us but lead us to the hall, something I doubt we would have found without them. As it was we arrived three steps in front of the stars of the show.
Today, after early rain, the weather got better and better. We visited Beaulieu, firstly a walk from the village to Buckler’s Hard where ships were built from local oak in the 18th century. We then visited the estate and the motor museum and grounds. It almost seemed a shame to go inside as the weather continued to deliver plenty of vitamin D.
