I met some folks and had a walk around Brookside Gardens. The snowbells and crocuses are up in swaths, the hellebores are blooming, and the daffodils are about to pop. One of the other people also remembered freaking out last year that all of this was happening in February. 

The Netherlands is joining the coalition that will help Ukraine get more drones. This will be in addition to the F-16 jets, artillery, ammunition, and air defense systems. 


Japan cannot provide direct military support because it has laws that prohibit it but, as planned, hosted a conference on the reconstruction of Ukraine, pledging a new bilateral tax treaty and other support for Japanese businesses. Japan has pledged $10 b of assistance. Approximately 50 Japanese companies signed deals with Ukrainian counterparts at the conference, in agriculture, energy, and infrastructure.

Mexican wedding cookies are the most amazing cookies. There are other cookies that look just like them but they are not even 1/4 as good. Mexican wedding cookies…. I have subconscious childhood memories of them. I don’t consciously remember them, but when I saw something that looked like them in the store my whole body was filled with joy, so much joy that I called my mother and asked what on earth was going on, and I learned that when I was very, very young she would make them and she, me, and my sister would immediately eat all of them. This is why she stopped doing it and why I don’t consciously remember it but I can imagine how happy it must have made little me.
