Islington explorers

Today, we followed a self-guided walking tour itinerary around Islington to familiarise ourselves with the area our eldest currently calls home. He was working, so we had a fab breakfast at a cafe called The Breakfast Club in Camden Passage (great food, friendly staff, generous portions) then set off on our tour. We met him briefly (between meetings) for a coffee at lunchtime in a cafe opposite his flat and then we continued with our tour, taking in New River Walk and Culpepper Community Garden where we spoke to a very interesting woman who helps to run it. We stopped for more coffee and a delicious cake in the afternoon and then went back to our hotel for a rest.  Later, we met our son and went to a local vegan restaurant called Jam Delish which was fantastic - tastiest vegan/vegetarian meal I think I've had in a restaurant - highly recommended. We rounded off the evening with a visit to the Angel Comedy Club to see some up and coming comedians who were, on the whole, pretty good. Bushed from our action packed day, OH and I returned to our hotel and eldest son headed off to a party!
