A Winner In The Lottery Of Life

Today's image was 'inspired' by an episode of Escape to the Country - one of my favourite afternoon TV programmes, especially on another dull and grey day like today.
Today's couple were looking to relocate to the Welsh Borders. It wasn't so much their hunt for a new home that captured my blip imagination as the story of an abandoned little pig who they were introduced to when they visited a nearby animal sanctuary (the couple they were thinking of re-homing some animals at their new property).
A seven week old Oxford Sandy (a breed well known for its gentle and easygoing nature) piglet called Wilbur had been abandoned on a building site and scrubland in Kent with lacerations on his back and sunburn on his ears. Luckily somebody had managed to rescue him and he had then been transported up to the sanctuary in Wales where he had now found some love and a home for the rest of his life. He really did look to be living his best life! Isn't that what we all want - to be shown some love and have somewhere to call home? Sorry if that was a bit soppy! Maybe it's the Valentine's Day effect! :-)
It was just good to hear a good news story for a change and when I came across this little pottery pig and the toy winner's medal in our kitchen (it's literally full of random stuff!) I had my blip image.
