Little Bird

We have a few small Saturno Silver ornaments - as seen in my blip of 8th November last year - and this is the latest addition to the collection, a small Puffin. And I do mean small, as it’s only 3cm high. The pieces are all cast in silver, hand painted and then lacquered to protect the finish. Mrs C has long been a fan, and I have bought her a couple of pieces over the years as birthday presents. But the purchase of this one was made possible by the sale of some old gold jewellery for scrap - pieces that were broken or wouldn’t be worn any more. The intention was to buy one nice piece of jewellery with the proceeds, and a very nice ring has been purchased.
But, such is the price of gold at the moment, that there was enough left over to get this little Puffin. A bird much loved by Mrs C since she had the chance to see them up close on the island of Lunga, near Mull.
There were several other really nice little animals and birds on display in the shop, and a fairly heavy hint was dropped that somebody’s (not mine!) birthday was coming up in a month or so. Looks like the collection may be expanding again, sooner rather than later…
