Hover fly......

...not hovering.  I saw many hovering though......sometimes even appearing to be lining themselves up for a good look down the barrel of the lens!  But how to capture?  They sure do move quickly.......but their hovering ability is fantastic........locked to one spot whilst their wee heads look all around and scope things out.  Fascinating, and very achievable.   I do like a challenge! ;)

And whilst I was down there at ground level I noticed the summer grass poking its head up (extra)......time for another mow maybe.  Dilemma.....if I mow I remove the clover which the bees love and the hover flies seemed to enjoy being amongst.  Hmmmmm......
