That’s A Lot Of Years
There is something a bit special about Veterans Breakfasts, the surge of new clubs over the last couple of years, many but not all, under the AFVBC umbrella has formalised what was a loose arrangement of occasional meet ups.
Breakfast is ‘the’ meal of the day in the military, a time to catch up, a time to look forward, in most cases whilst nursing a hangover.
At our table of nine for this mornings with just six veterans and three partners there was probably over 150 years of service, pretty good going.
Following breakfast a stroll through town to pick up a prescription, the dreaded eye drops, then home. I left it until after a coffee to walk Paddy, big mistake, half way the wind picked up and the rain returned. By the time we reached Tregenver Road where the 2’s were playing we were soaked through. We lasted around five minutes of the match being blasted by the wind and rain before we gave up and headed home.
Todays photo, nearest the camera, Richard of Friday morning coffee fame.
