SPRING TEASE

I took a short drive north of my village on this nice weather today.  The ice is starting to pull away in front of the outlet at the boat landing on Big Elkhart Lake....a kind of Spring Tease.  You have to know, if you've resided in Wisconsin for very long that we'll pay for nice weather in February somewhere about March or April...typically in the form of heavy, wet snow.

But it won't be long before Spring arrives in actuality.  March 15th, plus or minus 2 days, typically sees Redwing-blackbird males arriving to set up their breeding territories, a real harbinger of Spring.  Might be a bit earlier this year due to the unusually warm weather.

What does the Old Farmer and his Almanac have to say about the situation?   For March:  temperature 39° (3° above avg. east, 1° below west)
precipitation 3.5" (0.5" above avg.)

We shall see.  So far all we have is this Spring Tease.
