A rainy day in Salisbury

I went by train to meet my Bournemouth friend P for the day.  We met at 11 in a cafe, and it rained so hard without pause that we stayed in the cafe for over 4 hours - having coffee, then snack lunch, then cake and hot chocolate:)  in order to justify occupying the table for so long. We emerged a little after 3 to explore - it was still raining, but more gently. We wandered around the cathedral outside (there was a funeral within so it was closed to visitors). We also pottered around looking in a few shop windows.  The wind chill was making it terribly cold, so we didn’t walk for long.  I have only been to Salisbury once before - it’s a lovely interesting friendly place I think.  The last time,  I had a sunny walk by the river - a very different visit.  Travelling across North Somerset and Wiltshire by train, I was shocked how much of the land is flooded.  This increase in rain is directly related to global warming, and very little seems to be done about it.
My blips show - the spire of the cathedral. Awesomely tall - 404 feet.
The collage - the approach to cathedral green, a medieval arch with shopping streets beyond, giant yews in the cloisters, the walkway in the cloisters, P and Stella, and a hilarious attempt to recreate Stonehenge from fudge in a nearby sweet shop.
I also added a little painting of a cat rowing with fish, just because it appealed to me.
