Bass Rock framed by houses
A day to make use of the new free bus pass. Out to North Berwick at partner's behest to visit charity shops and the zero waste shop (for crafting materials). We used a limited stop buses, which while taking longer than the train, has the advantage of not only being free, but stops in the town centre. When we arrived, we visited one charity shop, then went for lunch. It was pretty cold, so a hearty soup was chosen to keep us warm on a cold day. After lunch we had a wee wander around the town, and up to the view point on the rocks. Some nice views there, Extra 1 of a cargo boat sailing up the Firth of Forth, and Extra 2 of North Berwick Law looming over the town. Then back into town to visit other charity shops. The main blip was taken after we left the zero waste shop. We headed to the small Aviary, where I took Extra 3 of one of the cockatiels. A nice place to visit it sits in a walled garden, and it was nice to get out of the wind and feel the warmth from the sun. It was time for afternoon coffee and cake. Then the bus back to Edinburgh.
