Apprehended in Verona!

Another hot day. We were collected by coach to take us to Verona. About 16 people from our hotel went on the trip and we parked near the Arena in Verona.

The stage was being set up for the opera this evening which is Aida and we were apprehended by these two soldiers! We had to pay them though for our photo to be taken. There were various human statues throughout the city, one was hilarious! It was a man in a pram with just his head on show with a baby's body. He was so funny.

Had a free tour with a city guide and went for lunch and we actually had a pizza each with wine. There was a small market in the centre but managed to avoid buying a scarf :(

Went for a walk around the city which was lovely and no graffiti! Saw Juliet's balcony. Got back to hotel just before 5pm.

Looks like a storm is brewing this evening which should hopefully pass overnight.
