In the Swim of Things..

Another beautiful mild day - so off to the marsh I went in search of blip-ops. And there they were - blip-ops galore!  Duck-blips everywhere, ducks enjoying themselves by and in the water and on the ice - what is left of it...soaking up  the sunshine, dreaming of spring.

Easy blip pickings - not difficult to shoot a sitting duck, but I had also set a challenge for myself..to leave my iPhone at home and use only the Canon camera I had bought last year but had seldom used, being too intimidated by all those settings..Well, today was the day..only Canon shots allowed.  

Of course, the ducks co-operated, but it was much more challenging to get decent shots of a bird high up in a tree, flitting from branch to branch from sun to shade, refusing to sit patiently awaiting its portrait while I adjusted the zoom and light settings... but that was not the iPhone's forté anyway, so it was worth the effort to try to expand my photo horizons!
