You win some , you lose some...

This is very much a grab shot. I saw this greater spotted woodpecker on the bird feeder then by the time I'd managed to grab my SLR and put a telephoto lens on it I saw the bitd had moved over to this sapling. Initially I was delighted as it meant I could photograph it in a more natural setting but then I remembered the tree had a support post and then I really began to have second thoughts when I saw it pecking away at the tree. However, I grabbed a couple of shots before it flew off so I have a woodpecker blip but maybe also a less than healthy tree.
