She’s 13

She’d had so much expectation for this birthday I didn’t know how we were going to meet it. In actual fact though the expectation lessened closer to the day and we enjoyed a lovely day together. We made the room nice for her,had lunch out and a surprise escape room in the afternoon. That definitely hit the spot. The shift in gifts, even from a year ago was palpable. She’s growing up. I can’t stop it. Can only embrace it.
