The quiet giant

An unexpected light frost last night - the gritter didn't pass until 8am this morning, a couple of hours later than usual, so maybe the council wasn't expecting it either!

It resulted in sunshine all day long, which was good!  Had quite a few things to do indoors in the morning, but after lunch I set off with the camera for a walk along the seafront - see extra. I had a planning meeting of the U3A Gardens group later on, but made the most of a lovely day.

As I arrived home just before 5pm a heard a plane approaching, so rushed up the steps to the house just in time to catch a Hercules circling round. The undercarriage was down, so I suppose it was going to land at Connel, Oban's airport. They're always surprisingly quiet for a big aircraft!
