Uncommon view

This is a new view. Looks pretty nice eh? Sadly, it has appeared because a row of lovely cherry trees have been taken down and turned into mulch. This vista won't be with us for long because new houses are going up. New, very tall houses. Blocking the view houses.

Been a busy couple of days, nice busy - social events but no time for blipping. Last night we were entertained by Martin Stephenson and the Dainties at Victoria Hall in Settle. A lovely venue, small enough to be intimate, large enough to create some atmosphere and run by volunteers. There are some good looking events coming up, and Mike Harding, who did a quick guestspot last night has agreed to do a monthly Sunday night folk set. On the strength of his harmonica playing - well worth going to local blippers.

Today we were singing about rats. The kids are doing the Pied Piper of Hamlyn for their end of school play. Which brings me to my next question. My last blip of a baby mouse elicited comments of - that's a baby rat! from my friends. So, the question is, was I actually nose to nose with a rat? Now, I'm not squeemish about rodents, but "There's a rat in me kitchen..." has a whole different feel to it than "There's a baby mouse in my yard." Internet is very inconclusive on the matter.
Eeeek!!!
