Research Seminar on kitchen design for older users

Every Thursday we have a Lunch-time research seminar in which internal or external colleagues present their work. The first photo on the left is the one I took before the seminar started. The second photo on the top right is when colleagues started arriving. I took the third photo (on the bottom right) this evening just before I started for home so that I could show you the other view of our seminar/meeting room.

In today's seminar, our colleague discussed about her experiences of interviewing older people (aged over 65) to find out their requirements for designing kitchens. Her project is discussed here. Her research has shown that kitchens can be challenging spaces for older people - such as problems with the kitchen layout, reaching and bending, accessibility, ventilation, and so on.
