Open mic

Walked in to Holmfirth with MrM this evening, to support him and James at an open mic. They're playing two St Patrick's night gigs in a band later this month, and wanted to practice some Irish tunes and songs in front of a live audience.

When we first arrived, the venue looked more like a youth club than anything else - several talented young people were performing, and hoards of their friends had come along too. Many of the younger people drifted away later on, to be replaced by the inevitable aging 'wannabes'.

Difficult to get a decent photo of MrM and J - they were both wearing faces of intense concentration, but they sounded good, despite the less-than-good acoustics at the venue.

Glad to get home afterwards. Been slightly 'snuffly' all evening, just hoping that I haven't succumbed to MrM's cold...
