Log Off
We had a walk in the woods in Darwen, heading towards the Tower but not aiming for it. We were with our four grandchildren (all 5 or under) and parents. We walked passed a fallen tree that had been chopped to clear it from the path.
Whenever I see a tree like this I want to take it home and chop it into logs for the fire. No chance, too heavy and too far away.
My second thought today was a desire to push one particular log off the path and down the hillside. No chance, too heavy. And what if I had managed to get it moving and it hurtled downhill faster and faster and hit somebody and I was charged with killing them and I would never walk in the woods again. (This was the third thought.) So I didn't even try and move it, and just carried on with the walk.
