This lightweight, cordless, powerful (18 volt) weed cutter or whacker is my newest best friend this summer. I can pick it up and hold it with one finger before the small lithium ion battery is snapped on. that is the black rectangle at the right end under the handle. The battery lasts as long as I do.. about 10 of 15 minutes.. When I take a rest the charger only needs less than an hour to be ready again.
Roybi One is his name. I guess I could have clean him up for this blip but I was just in the beginning of the last whacking before the skies opened up this afternoon. The cost is under $75 complete with charger at Home Depot. An additional battery costs $40. You can also buy one online. Over Father's Day Weekend the cost was $59. Two friends took advantage of that deal.
For the physically challenged this is the best edger hands down. There is a lot to be said for the lithium ion battery for speed in charging and length it holds a charge.
Everybody who tries it out (on my weeds, thank you) loves it and goes to buy one... even if they own a heavy gas or electric one already.
