The Gathering

There was a service of praise and blessing of the lifeboat fleet today at Brixham. Boats came from Exmouth, Teignmouth,Salcombe, Dartmouth, and Torbay, assembling off Berry Head before sailing into Brixham. The service was attended by a large crowd, and took place near the lifeboat berth in the harbour. EXTRA. It was part of a year of events celebrating the foundation of the organisation on 4 March 1824.
It was a beautiful morning. It was very moving to sing Abide with Me with such a large group of people - the nearest I have been to an FA cup final.
