On rocks in the middle of the lake
Stopped off at Western Springs for a walk by Te Wai Orea. Right out in the middle of the lake is a pile of rocks, where birds rest for a time. On the highest rock a Karuhiruhi (Pied Shag) lorded it over all the other birds, at least for this afternoon.
The extra is of a female Putangitangi (Paradise Shelduck)
