Time Out……

Dog-walking friend S was having a brief rest with her two dogs. “Pinot” is sitting next to her and “Sadie” is at her feet. Beyond the distant trees and shrubs is the Richmond Range. The mountains were an amazing shade of blue today. There was a brisk south-westerly breeze blowing. And it was cold…. A touch of autumn or even winter. Gloves would have been welcome. A number of cyclists were riding the paths. They were loaded up with gear for a long cycling trek. I stopped one cyclist saying they looked as if they were planning to ride a long distance. My guess was correct. They were heading for the Molesworth and the route through that high country run to Hanmer. Rather them than me. It will be a chilly trip and there may well be snow up there in the Molesworth passes.
