A party with fizz

We enjoyed a wonderful time with Winsford and her husband this evening. It's several months since the four of us last met together - in Pitlochry last June - so we were all in the mood for celebration. How fortunate that we found several bottles of the fizzy stuff left over from Christmas in our wine fridge! 

We toasted our reunion in the sitting room. Then we moved into the kitchen for a supper of chicken pâté and/or salmon parfait with sourdough toast as our first course, followed by roasted sausages with broccoli and fennel, and fruit salad for pudding. (The latter sounds healthy but it wasn't really because I soaked the fruit in a kirsch syrup.) Winsford won the post-prandial game of Catan.

Inevitably much of the earlier part of the day was dedicated to preparations for the arrival of our guests, including a trip to the supermarket and cooking. I listened to the soundtrack of Hamilton while I was in the kitchen as 'revision' (or should it be 'prevision') for seeing the musical on Thursday.

Exercise today: 1 hour on the exercise bike; small amount of walking (7,926 steps).
