Gulls Spaced Evenly
Why do gulls space themselves so evenly on building tops, wharf rails, drift logs and boat rails? Anyone know? Young and old alike sitting side by side, and evenly spaced. They do make a great picture.
This picture is out on the Blaine dock and by the Blaine Marina. If you were sitting on the bench in this picture you would be looking at what was once the Alaska Packers Association salmon cannery, now the closed Inn at Semiahmoo which is looking for a new, and hopefully bright, future as it reopens soon.
The sun light the last few nights has been simply beautiful for picture taking. When I got down to the dock a young couple and their darling two year old daughter were enjoying the birds and taking pictures. An eagle carrying a feast in its claws flew over and all the gulls attacked it. No one got a picture of it though.
Shortly after that a little group of three people, all carrying cameras, started clicking too. So it was one hundred percent taking pictures on the dock. That would be all seven of us. It must have been the wonderful sunlight.
