Another view

A different view of yesterday's blip - this time posed in sunshine (jippie!) and a backdrop of a palm tree's leafy integument.

About 36/37 years ago, our family of three, Johann, myself and our eldest, had a chance meeting of another family, similar to ours, on an athletic field.

The menfolk were running, preparing for the Comrades Marathon .. we were the only people on that field and did not know each other.

Soon the toddlers started to communicate and the Mom and I started to talk.
We found that we had more or less the same interests ... and so began a wonderful, lifelong friendship ...

Both our families had new additions, and even though we moved to different cities, the bond of love and friendship always remained.

Today I want to congratulate this little toddler, now a beautiful woman with her own family, on her birthday!

Wishing her all the very best and thanks for talking that day to our toddler - else we would never have been able to share the wonder of such a rare and beautiful friendship!
