Harey handled walking stick

The farm is lucky in that we have plenty of hares. One spring through a field gate by the lane I saw a couple boxing, just so fortunate to have been passing at the right moment!

This walking stick belongs to N and he uses it about the farm, especially for driving cattle. T gave it to him as a birthday present several years ago. One gets so attached to sticks. The one I use was made by a man in the village from an acacia tree that had been chopped down in a nearby garden to make way for a monstrosity of a modern new build. This stick is tall and I tend to lean on it like Masai warrior! I still have my father's which he made a very long time ago, it has had woodworm in it and N put a new ferrule on its base and has taken it over. He lost another he bought in Bishops Castle in Shropshire and we never hear the end of it!
