Amaryllis

Still sitting in the utility room but now top-dressed, soaked and fertilised, the two Amaryllis plants are almost ready to be brought into the living room. The raffia tied round the leaves will be adjusted once they are safely installed in their new position, to provide support.

The dominant bud in the foreground is from the red variety, the little one peeping through the foliage behind is on the Dancing Queen, which lost her head in an accident last month, so this is her second bud. She has been very clever and produced a baby, whose progress we may follow in years to come.
