Sunset

I had the day to.myself while Mr Flum was helping Miss Flum with some bikey engineering stuff so I decided to reboil the syrupy plum jam failure that's been looking at me for rather too long.

Can anyone tell me whether sugar thermometers are calibrated before sale, or are they just packaged up and shipped out after manufacture? Because, although I followed the usual method of testing the set, according to the thermometer it did not reach the required temperature. What's the point of the thing if it's not accurate.

Anyway it has set well, and I sha'n't bother with the thermometer again.
