Catching up
This evening we invited our old friends C and C for dinner. We hadn't seen them for a few years, even though they don't live too far away, so it was really good to catch up. They run a very successful, but time consuming, goats cheese making business, which they set up over thirty years ago. We were pleased to learn that one of their two sons and his wife are gradually taking over more of the business, allowing C and C more time to do other things ( like meeting friends!).
They brought us some of their soft cheeses, plus a new, longer ripened cheese, which we look forward to sampling.
Meanwhile, here is the starter we served: rocket, pine nut and parmesan cheese salad, tossed in red wine vinegar and olive oil dressing. It's very simple yet very tasty.
