Processional caterpillars

Just as the hunting season ends and you think you're safe up in the hills, the caterpillars come down from the umbrella pines where they've weaved their silky cocoons all winter.

Bernie runs ahead of me and miraculously avoids them.  Otherwise it would be a steep vet bill.

Farmer Authié is the only person who drives up and down this lane in his C15 and is responsible for the squashed ones.  Otherwise they are indestructible.
