2024 Saturday — First Day Back

We walked late this afternoon; took a look down 4th Street toward the shore and the waves; paused to appreciate the shadow as we passed the Cross in the Catholic church’s parking lot; and then later watched and sighed as the earth turned and the sun and the clouds and the ocean became a living painting of wonder as the waves sang their thunderous song and the mild breeze tickled across my bare arms as I leaned out our front window to capture the orange marmalade sky.

Our first full day back here on California’s Central Coast has been “wonderful” and now I’ll add “spectacular” to my definition.
