Been a wonderful day..

The last few weeks have been very rough on me. So much so I have stayed home on Friday's not wanting to spend money or even go down to the park to photograph the birds. Well I have been deferring an oil change on my car a little while and one thing that my parents taught me - basic maintenance is critical of you want your car to last - so I found a dealership that could fit me in. I found out when I got there they had a 60 minute oil change guarantee - they took 73 minutes and while those extra 13 minutes didn't bother me - they gave me a free $70 oil change. My car didn't need anything else either - they were amazed I had 128,000 miles on the original brakes - which still had 50% life in them.. I told them I will do my next service there as they weren't that much more expensive then the place I normally go to. A great way to start the day.

From there I went to get my few hairs cut and then do my monthly grocery shopping. A slight rant here - the grocer I went to made $43 million last year - what if they got rid of coupons, sales for you, the weekly ad, digital coupons, in store sales and.... just sold things at a reasonable price - I think they would make even more money... The reason I mention this is I saved 40% on my grocery bill - by buying off brands, a few things I skipped but got something close, sales and... that 40% was a $95.93 savings.

Once home it was time to put everything away and then mow the lawn for the first time this year.. A clean plug and fresh fuel - the mower started on the second pull.. considering I intentionally ran it out of fuel the last time I used it (so it wouldn't go stale) and.. my dads old mower is still going strong.. Lots of play with Tiger and a few other things.. In this photo Tiger is only taking a nap - not long after this shot he woke up and wanted to play some more.. Seeing my mom tomorrow..

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend..
